After releasing iOS 4.01 for iPhone/iTouch today, Apple also released iPad iOS 3.2.1 for iPad owners to download.

Along with a number of smaller fixes/additions, the biggest new feature of iOS 3.2.1 is a fix for iPad’s recently discovered WiFi issues.

Registered iPhone developers can now download iOS 4.1 beta 1 from Apple’s servers.

What’s important to note with this iOS 4.1 beta 1 release, is that apparently it does NOT fix the antenna issue.

At the same time, the iOS 4.01 for iPhone 4 (download) that was released today for all users, apparently DOES fix the iPhone 4 antenna issue.

So it is quite likely that the iPhone 4 antenna problem fix will be included in beta 2 of iPhone 4.1 beta or so.

At a special iPhone 4 press conference today, Apple’s Steve Jobs announced that the company is giving away free bumper cases to all iPhone 4 buyers in order to fix the iPhone 4 antenna issue.

These bumper cases (produced by Apple and sold at $29,99 a piece) are worn on top of the edges of the iPhone 4, thus eliminating touch contact between the user and the metallic sides of the phone, which serve as the phone’s antenna.

Apple is apparently very very sorry that the whole thing happened, with Steve Jobs saying that they

Good news for those that like to keep their iPhones jailbreaked….

#1) Comex, the creator of popular Spirit jailbreak, announced (on Twitter) that he’s not waiting for iOS 4.1 to release his jailbreak tool. He says it should work with both iOS 4.0 and the more recent iOS 4.01. As of now, owners of iOS 3.x powered Spirit-jailbreaked iPhones don’t have an option to upgrade to iOS 4.x without losing the jailbreak, so that’s great news for them.

#2) As you might recall, recently the first man to unlock the iPhone back in 2007, George Hotz (also known as geohot) announced that he managed to jailbreak his iPhone 4 but was very vague on a public release date for the jailbreak. Today some new evidence points us to believe that a new version of blackra1n jailbreak tool for iPhone 4 might be coming soon.
