BlindType, A Keyboard You’ll Most Likely Never See on the iPhone

BlindType is a keyboard that learns from your keystrokes and predicts what you intend to write. Additionally, BlindType constantly adjusts to the user’s “perceived” keyboard and typing style. Does that sound impossible? Then check out this video.
Don’t rush to the App Store yet as BlindType hasn’t been released yet. The chances of seeing BlindType in the App Store one day are actually pretty slim but it might get its way to Cydia.
Thanks Git59 for the tip.

We’ve already seen the banned iPhone 4 antenna video. In the same style, College Humor did a funny video of what the antenna conference would have been if Steve Jobs had spoken his mind. Brilliant!
White iPhone Release Date: Still TBA

Looks like those of us (myself included) who were holding out for a white iPhone 4 might as well throw in the towel. In a disappointing yet unsurprising statement earlier today, Cupertino admitted that

Those of you who purchased an iPhone 4 can claim your free case now. Following last week conference, Apple decided to give away free cases to every iPhone 4 owner to fix the antenna “non-problem”…
Step 1: Download the iPhone Case Program app from the App Store.
Step 2: Launch the app and login with your iTunes credentials.
Step 3: Select the case of your choice.
Step 4: Wait 3-4 weeks to receive your case.
I just ordered a black Bumper. There isn’t much selection and I assume shipping time will go up and up as you wait, so hurry up!

If you purchased a Bumper from Apple or AT&T, you can get it refunded. This is part of a move aimed at appeasing angry iPhone 4 owners who are having reception issues with their iPhones.
How to Get Your iPhone Bumper Refunded
If you bought your Bumper by Credit Card, you should have already received a refund. Apple notes it may take one full billing cycle for the refund to appear on your banking statement. If you want to check for yourself, you can always check the status of your refund here.
If you bought your Bumper by cash, check, or gift card at an Apple Store, return to the Apple Store with your receipt by September 30th to get your refund. If like me you don’t keep receipts, I suppose that showing them your Bumper case might be good enough to get a refund, but don’t quote

Written on July 23, 2010 by Sebastien3 Comments
The guys over at Make It Work were lucky enough to sit down with Saurik, the developer of Cydia, for a few minutes and talk to him about the current iPhone 4 jailbreak situation.
Saurik confirmed that an iPhone 4 jailbreak will be released in the near future, and that Comex, MuscleNerd, and PlanetBeing are working hard on it.
Getting Saurik on video is a pretty rare event so I suggest you check it out.
iOS 4 Installed On 50% of iPhones

A recent survey by online ad network Chitika reveals that 50% of iPhones are now running iOS 4. iOS 3 is installed on 49% of iPhones, while the 1% remaining still runs the older iOS 2.
Looking more deeply, iOS 4.0

In a tweet sent today, MuscleNerd confirmed that the iPhone 4 unlock is ready now but it will only be released whenever the Spirit jailbreak is done, debugged and packaged.
A little earlier, PlanetBeing had sent a similar tweet stating that “we’re gonna be able to give you an unlock with the jailbreak”.
At this point, there is no doubt all the Dev Team is waiting for is Comex to finish up the work on Spirit, which release should be imminent.
There’s been a lot of waiting for the jailbreak and unlock but it seems there is light at the end of the tunnel. The Dev Team obviously doesn’t make us wait on purpose. They simply want to make sure the finished product will be bug free and stable.
Go Dev Team!

Apple today released the long awaited iOS 4.01 for users of iPhone and the iTouch.
This new iOS firmware version is supposed to fix the iPhone 4 antenna issue, by re-calibrating the way the device’s antenna received the wireless device.
And apparently this iPhone 4 software recalibration actually worked. Although we certainly do need to wait for more reports. to announce that this was a win for Apple.
Update: some reports though say it wasn’t 100% successful.
